The Public Lecture

As Part of the Capacity Building activities in Eye Health, MEH and Eye Health Uganda in collaboration with Uganda UK Health Alliance, Makerere College of Health Sciences, Mulago National Referral Hospital, Uganda Ophthalmology Society and Mengo Hospital have organised a Public Lecture on Diabetic Retinopathy on 17th October, 2018 between 2pm and 4pm at Makerere University College of Health Sciences Davis Lecture Theatre(DLT). The guest speaker of the Lecture will be Prof Lyndon da Cruz a world Renown Vitreo Retinal Surgeon and Researcher from Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, UK.

The lecture will be targeting professionals in general and specialised care including Intern Doctors, Medical Officers, Residents, Physicians and Ophthalmologists from the above-mentioned facilities and Institutions. A few undergraduate medical students will also be invited to attend.

We expect a turn up of about 150 participants from across the professional categories and institutions mentioned.

The event shall also focus on exploring possible partnerships and establishment of a Retina Pathway collaboration between Institutions in Uganda and Moorfields Eye Hospital.
